Erickson Beamon for Target hits the store on Feb. 15, 2009

Ever since the news about the world-renowned jewelry designer duo, Karen Erickson and Vicki Beamon, teamed up with retail chain store, Target, to design a limited edition jewelry collection, I have been impenitently waiting for the line to hit the store.

Erickson and Beamon is best known for its exquisite, glamorous, and unique ornament pieces. Their design is always timeless with a bit of vintage touch to it. I have always wanted to own a piece, however, the price has always been my biggest concern. Now, I don't have to worry about the cost anymore as the intention behind this collaboration is to make the jewelry affordable to general public. Maybe the gems are not made of real stones like their own line, but since the designers are in charge to source their own materials for the line, we should expect there is still a standard quality to the collection. Seriously, for a piece designed by Erickson and Beamon with a price tag that is not over $50. I'd say it's a bargain :D

So girls, pick up your wallet and head to the nearest Target store as the collection is in store NOW. If there isn't any Target stores near your area, you can also order them online. Get them while you can =)

p.s. I photoshopped many pieces that I like into the photo above, I hope you enjoy it, too.

Full campaign of Katie Holmes for Miu Miu

Finally, the whole s/s 09 Miu Miu campaign is out for us to see.

After checking out the photos on Miu Miu website, I actually became infatuated by some of them. I gotta say, Katie has definitely transformed herself from an American sweetheart to high fashion and edgy, although I do see a glimpse of Victoria Beckhamesque in some photos.

Needless to say, the clothes and shoes of course stole the show. I secretly want to purchase this fabulous pair of stilettos with a cute bow on the back that I know I probably won't have an opportunity to wear. But just look at it, it could go with a simple LBD and make a statement. If only I can get my hands on it!!!!

Gareth Pugh is financing by LVMH

If you like theatric shows by Alexander McQueen, be sure you pay attention to this 27 years old English designer, Gareth Pugh, as he is getting a lot of press attentions and might be on his way to stardom.

By having a backer as big as Michelle Lamy, significant other of Rick Owens (whose design I adore), and Anna Wintour as one of Pugh's notable supporters. There is no wonder LVMH wants to have a hand in "nurturing" this young designer. The gossip is Pugh might even be considered to take over Dior Homme, one of the gazillion labels under LVMH's conglomerate.

In fashion business, designers always need to balance creativity and commercialism. McQueen has compromised, apparently Gareth is no exception. However, what I love about McQueen and Gareth is even though they have toned down their avant-garde and surreal silhouette, their design is still one of a kind and inspirational. I hope Gareth Pugh would stand his ground, stick to his visions, and continue to amaze us with his breath-taking creation.

Katie Holmes for Miu Miu - part II

A new picture of Miu Miu s/s 09 ad features Katie Holmes has been released. I seriously don't understand the concept behind it.

According to the photographers, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, they want to make Holmes looked like "a luminous icon radiating a sense of mystery and theatricality." As i was saying in my last post, the space does portray a sense of mystique, however, this photo is completely bizarre. Come on, Katie's hand on fire?

T by Alexander Wang

For people like me who cannot afford The Row and want an upgrade from American Apparel could now find a perfect t-shirt from T by Alexander Wang.

Alexander Wang, a bright new star who was awarded 2008's CFDA Swarovski Women Wear Designer of the Year Award, is launching a lower-priced label, T by Alexander Wang. His silhouette is always clean, refined, and luxurious because he believes women do not need to stand out in an obvious way, but a simple t-shirt and jeans could be just as alluring and fashionable as a dressing gown.

T by Alexander Wang consists twelve styles of tees, tanks, and dresses in colors include traditional black and white, gray, lavender, chartreuse, and cerulean. If you are the kind of person who enjoys mix and match like me would surely need to stock some of these clean and classic basics in your wardrobe.

Loeffler Randall

Loeffler Randall is 2007's CFDA Swarovski Award winner. The brand is well-known for its accessory and footwear, but, what I love about LR is its apparels.

I want to purchase almost every look on its Fall 08 lookbook. Not only it looks marvelous together. Individually, each piece is purely unique because of its extraordinary detailing. I specifically dote on the black dress with layers of strings on its collar, the white ruffle shirt, and the black ruffle coat. Although Loeffler uses a lot of ruffles and gauze, it is not overly girly due to its clean cuts. To see more complete collection, please visit thier website

Katie Holmes for Miu Miu

Actress, Katie Holmes, is the new face for Miu Miu 2009 spring/summer ad campaign.

I actually like the overall ambience of the ad, the soft warm lighting provides an aged and mysterious sense into the whole picture. Regrettably, I find that Katie Holmes's face is a bit too sever as she was possessed by something or she was trying too hard. Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to see more pictures of this campaign to be released.
