As you may know, it is award season. Now that the Golden Globe of 2009 has come to an end, let's take a look at what the stars were wearing!
To be honest, after reviewing the pictures of the red carpet, I am more disappointed than impressed. Despite the fact that there are some nice dresses, they are not exactly breath-taking. Seems like the stars are not willing to take risks this year.
Some of my favorites are:
1. Kate Beckinsale - Her white mermaid like J. Mendel strapless evening gown is fabulous, especially she spices it up with a pair of huge garnet teardrop earrings which totally complete the whole outfit.
2. January Jones - The look is very old hollywood glamour. With her baby blue satin Versace, her blond hair, and porcelain skin, January easily stands out in a crowd. I particularly love the fact that the dress is not too overstated, yet it has great details
3. Olivia Wilde - The Lavender Reem Acra gown is romantic and feminine. The pastel colour gives a great contrast to Olivia's tan skin which absolutely complement her, whereas the ruffle makes it girly too.
4. Drew Barrymore (minus the hair) - The sky-blue Christian Dior Couture gown accentuated her ivory skin, however, what is up with the hair? She looks like she just rolled out of bed and say "oops, I'm gonna be late for Golden Globe."
5. Marie-Louise Parker - The bright blue Carlos Miele gown is eccentric and the fish-scale like design enhanced Ms. Parker's shape.
6. Anne Hathaway - Anne's midnight blue Armani Privé gown is simple and classic, but not much "wow" factor. A very safe choice for Ms. Hathaway.
7. Isla Fisher - Isla made a great example of "smile is the greatest accessory of all." Although her asymmetric one-shouldered Carlos Miele gown wasn't spectacular, it is sensational on her.
8. Melissa George - This Armani dress is sophisticated with a little twist, the black detailing looks like it's made of plastic which gives it a futuristic finish.
9. Evan Rachel Wood - Dark sequins Elie Saab dress and the plunging neckline make Evan looks goth, glam, and sexy.
10. Laura Linney - Laura's one-shoulder Elie Saab buttery yellow gown with the right amount of crystal on the waist is both subtle and stunning.
